Three Designs, for three very different people...

So I thought I would share with you some current projects...

Please note these are just "proof" shots so there may be a spelling issue in the designs, or they are yet to be completed.

First I wanted to share a wedding invitation. Yes it says Carr!! Its for my business partner Elizabeth....I'm so happy for her. She wanted to do something bold, bright, classic, with a twist. So I designed a three panel raised invite, in poppy & sapphire blue. With a buck silhouette & laurel wreath, accented with a clear swarovski crystal.

Next is a logo development project for a wonderful woman in Cleveland, Ohio. This is for her new venture "Fragrance & Fancies" a lavender sachet business she has sort of fallen into. I'm so excited for her, and this logo fits her perfect.

And finally a save the date for my sister. Wait till you see the invitations. Her colors are petal & chocolate. The actual finished date card receives 2 pink swarovski crystals in the frame around the monogram.

OK, well i hope you enjoy!!

Check in tomorrow when you can see why I have not been posting for a week. Lots of cleaning and organizing has been going on around the Green Velvet.
Have a tremendous Thursday!!

Ciao!!

(PS.. did i mention that i am so excited that the spell checking button is now fixed on my blogger so i can actually not offend all of you fine people with my horrendous spelling)

My deepest appologies....

Hello all..... So sorry it took so long to post!! It has been a crazy snow ridden week. I wanted to give you something to see, so i will post a picture of a wedding cake topper I did for a wonderful bride to be. Her wedding colors are red & black. I hope you enjoy.

this first picture is a close up of the fabulous vintage image i discovered that worked perfectly. You can also see the wax coated flowers from the bride to be's, Grandmother's Cake Topper that I incorporated , there are also flowers from the bride's mother as well.
Here is the shot of the entire toppe finished it measure approx 14" tall and 10" wide. You can see the vintage lamp base i used as the base to this topper.

ok, so i was in picture mode, and decided to try and catch some daytime shots of my new window dislplay. The glare is very bad but you can get an idea.
Its the "Tale of Peter Rabbit". With a garden of vegtables made of tissue paper & a tissue paper tree, with foam leaves. I will try and take better shots one evening this week so you can see it without the glare. Hope you enjoy!!

So I hope that was worth the 5 days of no posts, i promise to try harder to post more often.

Have a great night and if your in the mid-west be careful this eve & tomorrow am when you are out & about in the winter storm.
Ciao-

Fabulous Jewels

I wanted to share with you some of the exceptional talent that our jewelry designers are showing this weekend in our trunk show.

Our first designer's are "La Trunk". Two fun sisiters from granville, whom have a knack for fashion. This is their debut at green velvet. How fitting that "la trunk" debut at a "Trunk" show. Ha ha ha....ok I tried to make a joke. Its still early forgive me!! These designs feature hot vintage finds mixed with hardware store chains, vintage metal chains, lots of sparkle, funky charms, and some handmade charms . These sisters price their jewelry to move....the "Chunky Charms start at $60.Next is Belle Street, Designer Mellissa has been with us since november 2007. Her designs are modern yet classic, and surprisingly affordable... Each is made of precious and semi-precious stones. Pictured below is the "Sydney" for $70 ; these pieces of ear candy are made of gold vermile & aqua marine.

This next designer has a great talent for the funky and obscure. Her line is "Bijoux Anew" a collection of vintage & brass findings mixed with genuine swarovski, vintage, & glass crystals. Check this wonderful "Lucky" bracelet composed of whimsical good luck charms in brass with 12 yes, 12 vintage 1930's bakelite dice. It's only $80.

Finally, last but not least is "Vintage Vamp". Designer Theresa M. uses vintage rhinestones from all era's to compose her pieces. Each piece made with gold or sterling links and closures she raises the bar for vintage re-worked jewels. This unbelievably exquisite bracelet is only $150 with 7 chunky rhinestone buttons from the eairly 1900's. WOW!!!

Thats only the top of the cake here in the boutique this weekend as each designer has close to 4- pieces each they are showing.
Like any piece call the store today and if you are lucky it still could be here.

Have a great afternoon. More fun trunk show finds to come later today!!

Vintage Inspiration

People always ask us, " Where do you find your color inspirations?". The answer is simple....it's all in the threads. Whenever im looking for a color combo or a new color for our stationery line i line up our collection of vintage threads its fantastic. This pic shows our vintage thread collection in the original display case. Its totally fantastic.
Now i pulled the chartreuse and aqua for a Bride to be to get the perfect wedding color pallette.
Here is a picture of the invitation proof I designed for her.

Take note of the hand glittered tree's and the swarovski crystal stars.

Well that is our fun vintage item for the day!!
Tomorrow is the beginning of our "love letters trunk show".
We have some great new items from some of our jewelry designers that are to die for.

We will post some pictures of the event tomorrow.

ciao for today- B

A craft.....from yours truely for Amy Butler

As promised here is a fun craft project.

I composed this craft for Miss Amy Butler for her website. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I recommend the use of Amy's papers from "K & Company" (coming soon to mygreenvelvet.com) because they have the right thickness, any paper will do however.

Also speaking of Amy Butler, make sure you check out our website Mid march as we launch all of her products in our webstore. She's so fantastic we have given her an entire section dedicated to her fabrics, paper, stationery & patterns.

Well happy crafting....more to come tomorrow!! Let see? I think maybe fabulous vintage finds.
